Description
I have wanted to capture a beautiful storm over a harbor for years now. I spent several nights at this harbor over the summer to get just the right storm to line up perfectly. As storm season winds down, I finally captured the image that I worked so hard to get. As lightning shots go, I find this one to be one most elegant I have captured to date. This beautiful image was captured over Cape Harbour in Cape Coral, Florida.

Thank you very much for the kind words about my work. You are absolutely right, these kinds of contests are simply popularity contests. I only submitted because people kept messaging me about it. I am not in the popularity contests so as soon as I entered it, I just forgot about it. It is what it is. Good luck with all of your endeavors.

For what little it may be worth, know that I truly felt this piece worthy of being on a billboard. If as contestants we can look through all the submissions and choose our favorites, I wonder why the judges (whose opinions should be more valuable than mine) can't do the same, instead of making this a popularity contest. I wish you the best with all your art.
